MyShoebox is the client side for a free and unlimited online photo backup service. There are versions of MyShoebox for Microsoft Windows, Macintosh, iPhone, and Android. This means that you can access your entire photo collection from virtually anywhere. Of course, the program needs an active Internet connection to be able to work, and you will need to open an account on shoeboxapp.com in order to use the service.

As soon as you run the program you are prompted for your username and password to log in. If you do not have an account yet, you can create it from the program itself by providing a very basic set of information. Once you are logged in, the program allows you to select whether to synchronize your "pictures" folder or to create a customized list with the folders that will be synchronized. Then you can press the "Start Sync" button to upload your photos. The time it takes to complete the process will depend on the weight of your image files and your Internet connection speed.

Once the program has finished uploading your photos, it will show them to you in a timeline. You can also search for specific photos according to different parameters – the day of the week or the season they were taken on, the camera used or their location. Besides, the program is capable of synchronizing your selected folder(s) automatically. Of course, you can change those folders at any time. more
